Not About Sodas
I was going to write this blog about how I'm giving up soda. Now, I'm not giving up all sodas. And I don't mean to say that no soda (of the ones I am giving up) will ever cross my lips ever, ever again. So, for an indefinite amount of time I will be drastically cutting back on sodas. I don't count root beer or other, say, Stewart's Sodas among the ones I am giving up, but Coke and Pepsi products are out. I am willing to concede the occasional Coke over ice, but when I do so, I want it to be intentional, and not because I'm at taco bell and it's either soda or water.
The reason I decided to not quite so completely empty myself of soda culminated saturday night at work. I had a pepsi left over from a few days ago and decided to drink it instead of buying a new drink for my dinner. My body told me not to drink it and it didn't taste very good. I'm getting enough caffeine in my system from the coffee at work. And there is nothing in a soda that my body needs. It's an entertainment drink, and as such, it is tastier when it is only partaken from time to time.
And maybe I just decided all this because of all the philosophy books I had to read last week for the Philosophy class I'm sitting in right now. I should've taken an intro to philosphy in undergrad. I would've really enjoyed it. It just didn't appeal to me at the time for some reason. It's interesting to go through all the major schools of thought and ways to see the world. Looking through all of them expanded my brain for a few days...but now I just have a headache....which may be more the result of lack of caffeine than any kind of epiphany.
So. I was going to write about all that, because that was the light-hearted thought on my mind for the past couple of days. However, my heart is heavy with other things. Things that are probably too heavy to put in a blog. Maybe I'm just in a funk.
