Hemanday!

Let all be advised.

Sampson and I have declared that henceforth the three middle days of the week will no longer be known as tuesday, wednesday or thursday. Finding ourselves in an adult world and feeling the need for extra-powerfully named days to encourage us through the week, we have chosen these days to be, respectively "Sheraday, Voltronday, and Hemanday."

Let all be advised.

We understand that there may be further need to name the other 4 days of the week and so we have allowed for all readers of either of our blogs to offer up candidates for these days. Next Hemanday we will convene and decide which offerings shall be given the priviledge of replacing the current names of the days of the week.

Comments:
has voltron been strategically placed on hump day such that it is between heman and shera just to keep them apart and not humping...thus forming a new day and throwing the whole fucking universe out of whack?!

cuz if so, kudos.

also, does beth get some kind of prize every Sheraday for her love of the princess of power?

And are we talking about the oldschool cartoon voltron, or the newschool computer animated voltron??? ....these distinctions are important as they could decide the fate of the universe (see above)

Point the First, Voltron being the combined power that it is, has been chosen to take the traditional place of Odin/Mercury, a place of power.

Point the Second, He-man's and She-ra's respective days, being both alike in dignity are therefore taking equal positions of power before and after humpday. The strategy also plays out well in that Male and Female strengths are showcased in equality and the combined powers of Voltron stand in a superior position in the center.

Point the Third, Beth can award herself a prize for whatever she wants to.

Point the Fourth, Old School. Of Course. But you can accept it however seems best to you.

Point the Fifth, just offer up your suggestions. Don't critique those of us who are doing something about the lack of power in our weekday names.

Point the first: Adam is laying down the law!!!!! Nice

Point the second: What about a Khazaki Khack Shackday?

Point the 3d: Thundercatday. though that maybe should replace thor's day.

Point the 4th: GIJoeday. Could be moon day. no relationship at all.

Point the 5th: how old school we going? DarkwingDuckDay? Smurfday?

OOOO, smurfetteday could be frigga's day (both being female after all).

Point the 5th continued: What about ... Oh, it's too late to think. Bedtimeday?

I'm not trying to squelch the new system, but while we're changing horses... It's time for the metric week!

Point the First: This is the most glorious idea people have had in a while. It totally made my day at work. (I had to stop reading the comments as I was trying very hard not to have coffee come out my nose from laughing, thus spoiling the facade that I am serious and working at work.) I will defintely be printing up new calendar days at work once a decision has been made.

Point the Second: Yay for gender balance and equality in the weekday layout:) (and of course old school voltron, Princess Allura is equaled in coolness only by She-Ra)

Point the Third: I am very appreciative of the fact that I get prizes for being cool:)

Point the Fourth: I'm liking Smurfetteday as Friday (Frigga is a lot to live upto) Maybe we could all wear blue? But I also must toss Mylittleponyday in there. Perhaps a weekendday?:) Or we could have alternating Smurfette/Mylittleponyday much like how Sunday has 2 names in mane european languages.

I voiced Thunder Cats Day on Sampsons blog and stick to it here.

Smurfette day is okay if we have no other female cartoon heros to look up to. Her roll as a hero or a 'legend' isn't as great as 'smurfs' in general.

My little Poney Day? I loved them to Nobbit, but they just weren't heros or legends.

Care Bears, now they were hero's... you try doing a care bear stare in the face of eminant doom. It takes balls I tell you.

balls, eh?
Not on these cartoon characters.

How about Optimus Prime for Sunday? His name is fitting for a 'first' day of the week, plus his identity as a transformer speaks to the change between the weekend to the work week. From Kick-ass Autobot leader to the working man's semi-truck.

For Smurfette, perhaps she would be better relegated to a holiday as opposed to an ongoing weekly source of power. I think hers is too weak for much more than Valentines Day or the like.

Not to change the topic entirely, since we have not yet set the days of the week, but personally, I would love to see Mrs. Brisby (secret of Nimh) take over Mother's Day - though her power stems only from a movie, and not a cartoon series.

To be honest, Sampson, none of the cartoons are anatomically correct. Least, I suspect not. I hope not.

Adam and I were talking and he suggested SupersaiyanDay. The name just SOUNDS badass!!!

I second sampson's Optimus Prime Day. Also a very cool day.

Optimus Prime Day would be most excellent! How could I forget one of the best shows of all time!

Monday- GIJoeday
Tuesday- Sheraday
Wednesday- Voltronday
Thursday- Hemanday
Friday-
Saturday- Thundercatsday (Thunderday?)
Sunday- Optimus Primeday (Optimusday?)

That still leaves the vote for Friday open. I still say Carebears but then perhaps they could have a holiday instead.

I think Supersaiyanday would be good for Friday. Very powerful, and as Friday is the day everyone waits for, it needs a powerful name. And I second the Carebears getting a holiday. Maybe something like veterans day? Or Earthday or soemthing? Something with fighting and careing. The Carebears were very succesful with passive/aggressive tactics:) Also, I nominate Smurfday as labor day. Because it takes one part smurfuration, one part smurfuration, and one part smurf, to get it done.
